Welcome to K’s Beauty Lab ✨ I’m so happy you’re here! My name is Shakalya, but most people call me Kay or Kayla. I’m the owner and stylist behind K’s Beauty Lab, proudly serving clients in Waldorf, Maryland. With 9 years of braiding experience, I’ve built my business around creating beautiful, healthy, and long-lasting styles in a fun, welcoming environment. While I specialize in children’s hairstyles, I also love styling teens and adults. My goal is for every client to leave my chair feeling confident, comfortable, and looking their absolute best. Before You Book Please review the following booking policies before scheduling your appointment: * A $30 non-refundable deposit is required to secure your appointment. Deposits will be applied toward your total service cost. * Appointment confirmations are sent by text and/or email 24–48 hours before your scheduled appointment. Please be sure to confirm. * Please arrive on time. A 10-minute grace period is allowed. After 10 minutes, a $15 late fee will be added. Arriving more than 15 minutes late may result in your appointment being canceled. * Prices may vary depending on your hair’s length and thickness. Kids’ Services (Ages 2–13) To make your visit as easy as possible, the following are included with all children’s braided styles: * Shampoo and blow-dry * Braiding hair * Beads (You’re welcome to bring your own if you’d like a specific color or style.) Parents are encouraged to bring a tablet or other entertainment to help keep little ones comfortable during their appointment. Adult Services * Braiding hair is not included with adult services unless otherwise stated. * If you would like me to purchase your braiding hair for you, I’m happy to do so. The cost of the hair will simply be added to your service total. * Please arrive with your hair clean and ready for service unless you’ve booked a shampoo as an add-on or it’s included with your appointment. Appointment Expectations Appointment times are estimates and may vary depending on hair texture, length, and style. Cancellation Policy
I charge a 50% cancellation fee for any no shows or cancellations within 72 hours of the scheduled appointment
